Using Creativity to heal
Welcome, I'm glad you're here.
A few years ago I heard the quote that ‘healing flows from your head to your heart via your hands’ (I believe it was Brené Brown) & this has absolutely been true for me.
There’s plenty of evidence of the healing benefits of a regular writing/journaling practice & I & many of the Inspirational Story tellers can testify to the benefit of writing & sharing your story.
And I believe it’s more than that.
I’ve had a journaling practice for a number of years & it was my therapist who encouraged me to explore other areas of my creativity.
I used to have a narrow definition of creativity, & because I can’t draw or paint, I believed I wasn’t creative. This despite having a business, writing, cooking & being a keen photographer.
I realized how ridiculous this belief was & so began the scavenger hunt to find my creativity, which has helped me to heal at a deeper level & also brought more joy into my life than I ever thought possible.
In the blogs below you’ll read more about how writing has helped & how I’ve harnessed other ways of being creative to help me heal & also to bring me joy. And of course you’ll pick up ideas for using creativity to heal yourself.
There’s more inspiration in my book, Finding Joy Beyond Childlessness. In it you’ll learn how to use creativity to heal & how to find joy.
