What are you concerned about?

You’re wondering about signing up to my programme Let Go and Move On: Six Steps to Finding Fulfilment after Childlessness  and something is holding you back.

Maybe you haven’t worked with someone on a 1-1 basis before; or perhaps you’re concerned that the conversation will be a sales call and you won’t be able to say no.

I know absolutely how you feel.

me tooEarly last year I decided that I needed help from a business coach, and deciding who to work with was, well scary. I mean, if acknowledging to someone else that I needed help wasn’t challenging enough I had to take the initiative, make contact and trust someone I didn’t know with my inner fears and hopes. There was no wonder I put it off for ages.

And you know what, it was absolutely liberating.

When she said words like ‘Me Too,’ ‘I’ve been there and I know how to get out’ it felt like a weight had been lifted from me, and her belief in me and what I’m doing continues to empower and sustain me.

I had a choice and I spoke to a couple of people before deciding. And, although I’d read their blogs and we’d met, we needed that initial discussion to get a feel as to whether we could work together.

I was worried that it might be a sales call, but it wasn’t. She asked me some questions and answered mine, she spoke about the process and where I would be at the end. What I really wanted to hear was an assurance that it would be okay, that I would be safe in her hands. And I was.

I was lucky; there’s more than one small business coach, and turning one down was really hard, and she’s okay about it, there are no hard feelings.

My only regret is that I didn’t decide sooner.

I’ve spoken to women who decided that my programme wasn’t for them just now, but they felt happier after our conversation knowing that what they feel is absolutely normal. I’ve also gently told others that I’m not equipped to help them, and I’ve referred them to someone who can. Honesty is one of my core values and it would be unfair to us both if I said yes if I wasn’t sure I could help you.

So if you’re curious about the programme and whether it’s right for you, let’s have a phone or Skype call. You can ask any questions you want, the hard sell is not my style, and even if you decide not to go ahead you’ll gain something positive from our conversation.

So that we can focus on your specific questions and make the best use of our time, here are answers to the most common questions I’m asked.

1. What about confidentiality?

I can assure you of absolute, 100% confidentiality. I can confirm that NO-ONE will know from me that we’re working together. I’ve worked with women that I’ve met socially and no one knew or guessed that we’d worked together.

If you kindly write some feedback that I’d like to publish and you don’t want to use your real name, you can choose any name to use instead.

2. How long is the Let Go and Move On Programme?

Normally it’s three months and we’ll have a session every couple of weeks. If you’d like to take longer that’s absolutely fine and I wouldn’t recommend more than three weeks between sessions.
There’s no homework, but I will give you some things to think about, and you’ll get the most out of our time together if you put aside an hour or two for this.

3. What are the payment options?

You could pay all at once, or in instalments. Often that’s monthly and you could also pay every couple of weeks. As long as each session is paid beforehand, we can agree something that works for us both.

4. Why do I need to use Skype video?

Simply, because we need to be able to see each other. Whilst it’s true that coaching is a conversation and it’s possible to do many types of coaching over the phone, some of the NLP techniques that I use are more powerful and lead to lasting change so it’s essential for me to see what’s happening with you.

5. Will it be difficult, challenging, painful, emotional (insert other word as appropriate)?

I don’t know about you but if I’m paying a reasonable amount for something, then I don’t expect it to be easy! After all, if this was easy, you’d have done it by now wouldn’t you?

I aim to challenge you, because that’s how change happens. Will it be painful? No. Might you get emotional? Yes but in a good way. I’d be surprised if you didn’t feel a release of emotion after you’ve left behind years of sadness and grief, wouldn’t you?

6. How will I feel afterwards?

In addition to being comfortable in their own skin, being happy to speak about their life and having the courage to be authentic and embrace life as it is today, previous clients have reported feeling emotions like relaxed and calm, and that they can deal with days such as Mother’s Day better than they have for many years.

A final word of caution

Risk of learning to flyGo ahead and make plans for WHAT you want to do with your life, and when they don’t come true, how much will you regret not spending time first discovering WHO you are and what’s important to you?

Yes, staying in a cocoon is safe, but it’s also dark and lonely and not where you’re meant to be.
