I’ve spoken many times in the media and on other blogs, and here’s a selection of the places that I’ve featured.
The most recent are below.
In May 2018 I was interviewed by BBC Radio 4 talking about how the lyrics to the song True Colors resonate with me. You can read more and listen here.

I was interviewed by Sheryl Andrews as part of the Authors’ Journey series of interviews. We spoke about my journey to becoming an author and how the writing process has changed me fundamentally.
UK National Radio
- What do you do when IVF doesn’t work?
- How do you decide when to stop?
- And how do you come to terms with life afterwards?
These are the questions I discussed with Charlotte Smith when she and the Producer of Drawing the Line: When IVF Doesn’t Work, Anne-Marie Bullock came to my house to record my contribution for the programme.
When I agreed to be interviewed I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, and I couldn’t be happier with it.
The programme is thoughtful and sensitive and you couldn’t fail but to be moved by it.
I was delighted that Woman’s Hour picked up the topic and my husband, Roger and I recorded an interview with Jenni Murray. In it we spoke about how we came to terms with our life afterwards, including how helpful being a member of MTL has been to us.
You can listen to both programmes and read my thoughts here.

We waited until I was 35 before we started trying for children and I didn’t realise that my fertility was dropping. That’s why I’m backing the campaign for fertility education to be included in schools. My story was featured in this article in the Daily Mail.
A Published Author
I’ve written for a couple of books, they are:

Articles I’ve written for other websites
I’ve written a number of articles to increase awareness. Here they are:
In this post called Four Steps To The Once And For All Childless/Childfree Conversation I explore how to have to have a conversation with others who won’t stop mentioning that you’re childless or those who keep telling you miracle stories. I explain ow to do this without being rude, defensive or hurtful. It’s on TheNotMom website and is HERE
In this post for FabAfter50 I explain how I came to terms with not being able to have children and I explain everyone knows someone like me it’s HERE
I wrote a post about Turning Childlessness into a Homeworking Business HERE.
I wrote this article for the website A Child After 40 (for women on the later journey of motherhood). It’s called ‘Can You Face Being Childless After 40′ and describes my journey to where I am now in 4 (not so simple) steps. This is the LINK.
And this one called Starting Over After Infertility – A New Business Idea? HERE describes how I started over and was able to support other childless women.
In this post for Amateur Nester I share how I now have a fulfilling, childless life after failed infertility treatments. it’s here
Here’s my interview with Viv Oyolu on Dream Corner. Amongst other things we spoke about how men grieve differently and how hard it is to find our place in this family-focused world.
Men and women discussing childlessness.
I talked to Viv a second time and this time it was a round table discussion with both men and women. I believe it is the first recording of men and women speaking openly about their childlessness. I’m joined by my husband Roger, Teresa Meredith and Robin Hadley. We talk openly about the whole journey from when we started trying to become parents to how different our relationships are now. When you listen you’ll hear,
- How as a couple our recollections are different (for example why Roger and I decided to stop trying),
- How we struggled to come to terms with not having our own biological children,
- What’s different about our relationships now,
- The surprising challenges childless men face to have contact with children,
- Our advice to others,
- And the Blackadder moment!
And here is this ground-breaking discussion.
In my interesting conversation with Civilla Morgan on her Childless not by Choice podcast we discussed my ’10-year struggle with childlessness before coming to terms with the fact that I wouldn’t have children. How becoming a Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) Master Practitioner helped me and how I use what I learned to help others. We also talked about how time heals to some extent, and how I’m now happy with my childlessness. It’s HERE
In my conversation with Michelle Marie McGrath on her Unclassified Woman Podcasts we talked about a whole range of topics, including my story, how being in a support group helped me and what the major benefits of my life are now. It’s HERE
In my interview for Socially Holistic we discussed:
- My 5 top tips on how to let go and find fulfillment in life
- How to find a safe environment to tell your story
- The facts about your fertility (hint: you’ll probably be shocked!)
- How to heal the pain of childlessness
- How to take little steps to allow yourself to be vulnerable online
I was interviewed by my good friend and Business Coach Karen Knott in her series Prime Time Women In Action and here we are.
