Welcome & thank you for taking time to browse.
After writing almost 200 blogs over 7 years I realised how much support there was here & how hard it was for readers to find what they most needed.
I’ve therefore created a number of pages where you can find blogs about different topics. Those are quite broad & on this page you can dig deeper into areas which interest you.
I think the headings are self-explanatory, maybe with the exception of:
‘Lesley’s top picks, my favourite posts’ – this is a good place to start. These are a combination of those I really enjoyed writing & others which I think will be the most help to you.
‘Don't let your dreams ruin your life helpful process’- this was a series of blogs I wrote in early 2020, you’ll get the best out of them if you start with the earliest one!
‘Story’ – I am a great believer in the importance of owning your story as a positive step forward.
Please read a selection of different subjects & always with an open mind
I recommend that you take your times, always knowing that some will resonate with you & some won’t. And that’s perfect, because what supported me moving forward, might help you & it also might not.
In my blogs I usually ask questions, so I also encourage you to take time to answer them.
You can read much, much more in my book, Finding Joy Beyond Childlessness.
What’s made you who you are today?

From sprained ankle to heart in three steps
I hear and feel the crack in my ankle as I crash to the ground. ‘Are you Okay?’ Roger asks. ‘NO’ I get up slowly up and hobble gingerly to the nearest seat. I can feel my left ankle throbbing and don’t need to look at it to know its already swelling. My right knee … Read more
Reflections on Grief and Feeling by Sarah Chamberlin @Infertility Honesty
My first brush with the pain of loss I’ll never forget my first real brush with the pain of loss. It was after our fourth IUI failed when my tectonic plates started to rumble. Not quite one year into trying to conceive, things had gone rapidly and not well, and the world was starting to … Read more
Finding gifts in the impossible story.
As you know I’m in the middle of writing a book about stories & there’s a chapter about how the stories we tell ourselves can keep us stuck or set us free. So you’d like to think I’d be on top of this, wouldn’t you? Well I’m sorry to disappoint you, but no. Confession time … Read more
Three ways to ignore grief (and what to do instead)

Thank you Prince Harry – that’s my story too
It’s not every day that your life experience is the same as a member of the Royal Family, but I breathed a huge sigh of relief when I listened to Prince Harry’s recent interview with Bryony Gordon in the Daily Telegraph. In the interview the Prince says that he ‘shut down all his emotions’ for … Read more
Writing my own ending
I’m standing at the front of the room about to tell fifty people some things about me that no one knows. The silence feels heavy. Fifty faces are focused on me. As I scan the room I see close personal and business friends; acquaintances, and quite a few strangers. My husband is studiously avoiding my … Read more
