Search Blogs

Welcome & thank you for taking time to browse.

After writing almost 200 blogs over 7 years I realised how much support there was here & how hard it was for readers to find what they most needed.

I’ve therefore created a number of pages where you can find blogs about different topics. Those are quite broad & on this page you can dig deeper into areas which interest you.

I think the headings are self-explanatory, maybe with the exception of:

‘Lesley’s top picks, my favourite posts’ – this is a good place to start. These are a combination of those I really enjoyed writing & others which I think will be the most help to you.

Don't let your dreams ruin your life helpful process’- this was a series of blogs I wrote in early 2020, you’ll get the best out of them if you start with the earliest one!

‘Story’ – I am a great believer in the importance of owning your story as a positive step forward.

Please read a selection of different subjects & always with an open mind

I recommend that you take your times, always knowing that some will resonate with you & some won’t. And that’s perfect, because what supported me moving forward, might help you & it also might not.

In my blogs I usually ask questions, so I also encourage you to take time to answer them.

You can read much, much more in my book, Finding Joy Beyond Childlessness.

It’s good that we don’t have children

By Lesley | September 26, 2014

A couple of weeks ago I heard myself say these words, they sort of came out on their own and took me by surprise. My first reaction was to consider reframing them into ‘it’s convenient’ or it’s helpful’ BUT I didn’t because, when I thought about it, it IS good. If you’ve been reading the … Read more

This week I’m really pleased and honoured to share Lisa Manterfield’s story with you. Three ways to be more open about being childless

By Lesley | August 28, 2014

The ONE thing most women who connect with me find really hard (or even impossible) is to be open about why they don’t have children. Some say that keeping it to themselves feels like they’re dragging round a really heavy weight, Others say that they want to speak out but the fear of shame and … Read more

Men and Women discussing childlessness

By Lesley | August 24, 2014

A few weeks ago when recording an interview with Viv Oyolu we touched on how different the journey is for men. Viv had the great idea to facilitate a discussion where both men and women talk about what childlessness is like. And here is this ground-breaking discussion.   Is it the first recording of men … Read more

By Lesley | August 12, 2014

For this week’s story we’re heading ‘down under’ and featuring Enza Gandolfo who was helped on her journey by writing a novel about her experience. I love that Enza’s turning point was acceptance and that her key was understanding that it is not possible to control all aspects of our lives. Both so true don’t … Read more

By Lesley | August 5, 2014

You know that your life can change for the worse in an instant; you’ve received a call that turned your world upside down, maybe the one that told you you weren’t pregnant, that there was no use trying anymore, or perhaps a family illness. So you know the feeling that one moment you’re okay and … Read more

Why courage is the key to moving on

By Lesley | July 25, 2014

Since I wrote the six things I’ve learned in the last year I’ve come to realise just how intertwined they are and how they’re a recipe for life in general, not just living as a childless woman. I’ve also been thinking about courage, how it’s the heart of everything I’ve done and how I’ve healed. … Read more
